I can't believe you went there one year ago. After reading your blog I hope to visit this restaurant in London, Ontario someday for a taste of Lebanon. The freshness and flavours (garlicky, lemony)sound divine. Thanks for the glimpse into this style of food.

The nut loaf looks divine and tastes fabulous too. You are right though when making it you need a couple of hours because it needs to rest but that doesn't mean you can't take a break and rest or go out for a little while. I loved the flavours of the bread especially the nutmeg, pecans and coconut that are three of my favourite tastes and smells in food. Thank you for the recipe update.

Thank you for saving the memory of that day and of that meal at you house. It was a great joy to share thanksgiving with you and Dan. Your preparations paid off because everything was delicious. What more can you say about a meal? Loved it.

I was there for that meal preparation and shared in the eating part too. It was like participating in a visual arts class. The process led to a fabulous work of art and the taste was exquisite. The zucchini were easy to prepare and the rest of the recipe was like going home to cooking like my mom showed me in the good old days. I mean when I was younger and watched my mother make the simple recipes of southern Italy with an ease that defies the present day food network superstars. Thank you Amanda for taking me to that place that I call home.

July 26, 2010
I was just at the Ravine , and very disappointed to find out the Olsons are no longer there. Not even a cookbook. The food was still very good and I would recomend it to everyone , a great summer place to go eat.

I'm excited to be finally posting online after all these years. There really is no mystery about it, is there? I just dropped by your blog and had to write. I'm a recent college grad, journalism major if you must know, and I absolutely love the art of photography. I've got my website up but it's nothing to boast about yet. None of my stuff's been posted. Soon as I figure out how to do that, I'll spend the day posting my best shots. anyway just thought I'd drop a line. I hope to return with more substantial stuff, stuff you can actually use. SPG

Thanks Amanda for the info. I appreciate you checking that for me. I pulled my sage tag off the plant and it indeed says perovskia atriplicifolia. Oh well, I'll put it in my flowering beds. It says that this plant is a perennial. The flowers are a nice purple. Yesterday I purchased thyme and when I got home I realized I had purchased an ornamental thyme instead of an edible one. Again, it will look nice in the garden. I just wish there was a sign over edible herbs that said "eat me". LOL
